|   Sunday 4th mAY 2:30pm We will meet outside the Dome cinema on Marine Parade. Worthing’s clock tower, erected in 1948. The clock was moved to its present position in recent years and now stands close to the site of Worthing’s old Town Hall, demolished in 1966. |

  We will explore the origins of Worthing’s development as a seaside resort. We will walk along Warwick Street, Bedford Row, Marine Place, South Street, concluding with the history of the Dome and the Pier. |

|   The Dome, built in 1910 is a grade II* listed building. It was reputed to be the oldest, continuously operating cinema in the country. Closed two years for repair works, its future is uncertain. |

|   Bedford Row is an early example of seaside Regency architecture. It was once very grand and fronted beautiful gardens (now replaced by car-parking spaces). |
